For most companies, the end of the year is a time of careful consideration. In late December, businesses begin to look back on the previous year to celebrate successes and work to identify areas for future improvement. Plexus Worldwide, the Scottsdale, Arizona-based direct-selling health and happiness company, celebrated the new year by setting time aside to shine a light on the charitable actions of its employees and customers who gave time and money to helping the less fortunate in 2019.
In the past year, employees of Plexus Worldwide collectively contributed thousands of hours to local and national non-profits. Combined, the Plexus team volunteered more than 700 times in 2019 and donated their time to help in activities like organizing donated presents, refurbishing worn bicycles, and even packaging food boxes.
Such a considerable year of giving is made easier by the Plexus Worldwide leadership team, who prioritize philanthropy and work to provide as many opportunities for their employees to contribute to their communities as possible.
Plexus Worldwide Founder and CEO Tarl Robinson is quoted as saying, “There is no greater joy than donating time to help those in need, and Plexus is proud to give back to the communities that helped us grow over the past decade.”
That sentiment is mirrored by Plexus Worldwide’s President of Operations and International, Christopher Pair, who has helped to spearhead Plexus’ Nourish One Initiative which helps families in need by providing a donation for every Plexus Lean meal replacement sold. “When we give, we find greater purpose and fulfillment,” Mr. Pair said. With that spirit of giving propelling them forward, Plexus Worldwide was able to donate over 6 million meals to Feeding America and Mary’s Meals in 2019.
To support Plexus employee’s desire to give, Plexus Worldwide now provides 16 hours of paid volunteer time a year. In 2019 alone, Plexus employees used this time to volunteer more than 2,360 hours to help nonprofits on two dozen campaigns in the Phoenix area alone, with hundreds more hours donated by employees in other countries, like Canada and Australia.
Outside of volunteering, the Plexus Worldwide team also donated $500,000 in cash and in-kind donations to over a dozen nonprofits including the Salvation Army, the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and Cancer Support Community Arizona.
“We are so thankful for the overwhelming support of our employees and we’re optimistic that our outreach in the community will continue to grow in 2020,” said Mary Ann Luciano, vice president of philanthropy.
With such a profound passion for giving driving its employees and customers forward, and with a leadership team so clearly devoted to corporate social responsibility, 2020 is sure to be another hallmark philanthropic year for Plexus Worldwide.
